Tomáš taught history in Prešov for twenty years before he swapped the classroom for the trail. On the eastern stages he stops at every wooden church and memorial, and the last morning in the Valley of Death is always quieter than the others.
He marks trails as a volunteer too, so if you see a fresh red stripe somewhere between Kysak and Bardejov, it may well be his.
