Take a photo of the first red-white-red mark by the castle car park: there are about seven hundred kilometres of them ahead. The path climbs over Devínska Kobyla, a limestone hill of dry meadows, and drops into Karlova Ves before crossing the valleys on the edge of Bratislava.
After Mlynská dolina the city falls away quickly. The last part runs through the forest park to the meadow under Kamzík, where the TV tower marks the end of the day. Short, easy, and a good test of your pack before the hills begin.
