Thirty-five kilometres through forest with hardly a village in sight. The trail leaves Telgárt over the Besník saddle and follows the ridges of the Slovak Ore Mountains, an old mining region, past Stará Čuntava, Voniarky and the Kruhová saddle.

It is easy walking but long, and the place to slow down after the Low Tatras. Plan the night before you set off.
