Thirty-one kilometres over the rolling, forested Kremnica Mountains, an old gold-mining country. The trail keeps to the main ridge past Štyri chotáre, Havranovo and Horženovo, with long views east from the clearings.
Kunešov and Krahule bring the first villages for a while. Kremnické Bane, at the end, claims the geographical centre of Europe: a stone marks it near the church of St John.
