The Žiar range is one of the least visited parts of the trail. From the Fačkov Pass the path climbs under Vranja skala and follows the long forested ridge over Závozy.

Past the Vyšehrad saddle a short detour leads up to Vyšehrad itself, an old hill fort with the remains of a chapel. The day ends on the open meadows of Žiare, with the first views of the bigger mountains ahead.
