A different landscape: rounded hills, fields and lone farmsteads, the kopanice of western Slovakia. The trail passes through Brezová pod Bradlom and climbs Bradlo, where the monumental tomb of Milan Rastislav Štefánik looks out over the whole region.
From Bradlo it is an easy walk over open ridges to Myjava. The town played its part in the uprising of 1848: the museum of the Slovak National Council is right on the trail.
